Introducing a fresh musical partnership that blends the romantic melodies of boleros, bossa novas, and tangos with a modern funky sound. 

This innovative duo is a fusion of talents, uniting Ezequiel from Ecuador and Elena from Argentina.

Get ready to be transported to a new experience where the past meets the present, where breathing and vibration are the key to give a new life into these beloved genres. 


Ezequiel Balseca

He is Director and Composer of the Ezequiel Balseca Trio, who were nominated for Jazzahead 2020, the world’s largest jazz event. He was also part of the Super Sax Project in Barcelona 7 years ago with whom he recorded his first EP Meteor. Ezequiel has performed with the Owen Langer Group in Hannover and was arranger and pianist of the Sandra Artigas Quartet. 

In 2019 he won First Prize at the Steinway Piano Jazz Competition in Stuttgart and was awarded Third Prize at the Baku International Jazz Competition 2019 in Azerbaijan. He has been a member of the Baden-Württemberg Jazz Association for the last 4 years, and has performed with renowned composer and percussionist Christian Lillinger. As a jazz pianist he has performed regularly in Spain, Germany, Poland and Ecuador over the last several years.

In 2022 he decided to move to Australia after 10 years of living in Europe. Nowadays, he’s developing part of his new upcoming projects.

Elena Zalez

From dancer to singer. Elena is a performer artist that blends diverse disciplines upon the stage. The outcome of this creative fusion is an enchanting rapport established with her audiences.

She was Born in Argentina and studied at UNA (National University of Arts) in Buenos Aires. In 2008 she moved to Europe where she works as a tango teacher and dance performer. After more than a decade of an intense career in tango dance, she took up singing in 2014. Since then she has shared music with Andreas Tordai, Fabian Nesprias, the Berlin Tango Community Orchestra, Naoko Aoki, Jessie Lloyd, Elian Sellanes, Michel Bestrin and the Melbourne Tango Orchestra. Performing in different countries like Argentina, Sweden, Germany, Japan and Australia.

Based in Naarm/Melbourne since 2016, she works into different projects, collaborating with local musicians.
